TouchPOS: Getting Started in Retail View

This guide is done in retail view. To change between Retail View and TouchView use the  up arrow button to get to the settings menu.

Select: ‘Settings’ then toggle the ‘enable POS retail view’ radio button.  Save the setting, then reload the page.  This will require you to log in again.

 



Signing In


Step 1:  Enter your ERPLY customer code and click on “Ok”.

Step 2: Enter your username and password below.  Click on “Login” when ready.

Step 3: Choose your Register from the dropdown and click on “Select”.

 


Starting the Day


If  you/your administrator have selected ‘In POS, days must be opened and closed’ in Settings ->Configuration, and the register has not already been opened, this will come up automatically.  If it does not, and you feel it should, ask your administrator to check ‘Day Openings and Closings’ in Settings to verify that the register had been closed properly the previous evening.  If it has not, end the day, and have an administrator adjust the record as necessary. Re -login and it should prompt you to start the day now.
Step 1: Count the money in your drawer and enter in how many of each denomination you have. Click ‘Start the Day’ when you are finished.



POS overview



“Select customer” allows you to choose a customer from your current customer database in your ERPLY account.

“Select product” allows you to choose a product from your inventory and place it into the cart. You may also type in the product code, name, or scan the barcode of product to have it placed into the cart.

“New customer” allows you to add a new customer into your ERPLY database. You may choose which customer fields you will fill out for your customers. 

“Quick products” allows you to select from a predefined list of products that are added as quick selections in your inventory module.  http://support.erply.com/using-quick-selection/

“Discount” allows you to set a % or $ amount discount off an item.


“Shipping” allows you to add a shipping cost for your sale.


If you click on “tax exempt”, the sale will have no tax associated to it.


“Layby” button allows you to place the item on hold from your current stock level. You will need to take a pre-payment for the item at the POS.

 


Processing a cash sale


Step 1: Select your customer if needed. (by default it will display your default customer or ‘POS customer’ if you have not set one).

Step 2: Select the products to be purchased. Items may be selected by searching product name, UPC code, product code, by scanning the UPC barcode, or from the quick select buttons, if defined.

Step 3: Click on “Pay” when ready to complete the sale.

Step 4: Enter in the amount that the customer will be paying by cash. If they are paying the exact amount, you can just click on “Exact cash”. If they are giving you a different amount, you must click on one of the preset denominations or click on “Enter Cash”.  (“Enter cash” will allow you to manually type in the amount that they will be paying)

Step 5: Click on “Confirm” to complete the transaction.



Processing a Credit Sale

Step 1: Select your customer if needed (by default it will display POS customer, which is your default customer)

Step 2: Select the items that will be purchased.

Step 3: Click on “Pay” when ready to complete the sale.

Step 4: If the customer is paying total amount by card, you can click on “Exact Card.” If the customer will be paying a different amount than the invoice total by card, you will need to click on “Enter card” and specify the amount that they will be paying.

Step 5: Click on “Confirm” to complete the transaction.

 


How to process a return 

Step 1: Click on Return

Step 2:  Enter in the invoice number. Click on “Get” to pull up the invoice.

Step 3:  Select the items that you will be returning. Click on “select” to bring the items into the cart.

Step 4:  Once at payment screen, click on the “void” icon to complete the return.

 


End the day 

Step 1: Click on the arrow icon located on the bottom right of your POS window.

Step 2: Click on “Close Day” icon.

Step 3:  Enter in the amount you have counted in the register, left to register, and deposited.

Step 4: Once complete, go ahead and click on “End day”.
