Erply version 3.3.3

Major features

  • A new feature on dashboard — you can have selected widgets shown for each location separately, in addition to the total figures.

  • New configuration option in Settings > Configuration : should the “Unpaid Invoices” report and payment reminders show credit invoices or not? By default it is turned off.
    • Credit invoices were added to the report in version 3.3; now we have made it optional.
    • Having credit invoices displayed in the report is useful if a customer has unpaid invoices as well as credit invoices, and it is necessary to see that total due amount is smaller because of these credits.
    • In such case it would actually be correct to balance out both the credit invoice and an unpaid invoice. This can be done by applying a “paid by credit invoice” payment on both invoices — a positive payment on one document and a negative one on the other. If that operation has not been done, this new configuration option allows to see the report with credit invoices included. However, this makes the report significantly longer.
  • In Web POS it is now possible to order shipping from UPS (supported in US only). Previously, Offline POS had that capability.
  • “Discounts” section has been removed from customer card. Instead, we recommend the much more comprehensive Price Lists module.
  • In Reports > Purchase there are two new reports:
    • Purchases by supplier group
    • Purchase invoice rows
  • It is no longer possible to add a user without creating employee card.
    • Other Erply apps (Offline POS, iPad POS) require that each user have an associated employee card.
    • When adding new employees, we recommend to always perform the following steps:
      • Go to Company and Staff module and click “New Employee and User Account”
  • Fill in employee information (name, phone #) and save:
  • Click button “Create User Account”
  • Grant the new employee access to Erply (assign user name, password and set user group)
  • If employee leaves, her user account should be deleted from Settings > Users module. You may keep employee card; it may be necessary for reporting.

Other changes

  • When deleting an invoice, Erply asks if associated payments should be deleted, too.
    • Deleting payments comes in handy when you have made test sales from POS and both the sales and payments should be deleted.
    • However, a payment should be kept if it is real money paid by the customer; a prepayment, for example.Additionally: if you have made an invoice-waybill from a prepayment invoice and want to delete it, and you choose payments to be kept — Erply will transfer payments automatically back to the prepayment invoice where they were previously.
  • Erply warns if you try to add bundle itself to its contents.
    • A bundle must always be a SEPARATE product. Erply does not keep stock for bundles — only for bundle components.
    • If you have two items “Hat” and “Feather”, you need to create a third item “Hat with a feather”, set its type to “bundle” and add both items to bundle contents (“recipe”)
  • It is now possible to grant users the right to just edit reorder points and restock levels (or adjust inventory on product card), without granting the right to edit product cards.
  • New widget on dashboard, “Sales this month”
  • In report generator you can choose whether a report should have header and footer (ie, column titles and totals) when exported to Excel, or not.
  • New fields in report generator:
    • customer’s first and most recent purchase (date and invoice total)
    • whether customer is a company
    • whether customer is a person
    • contact person of a company
  • In assignments, you can select a vehicle by entering VIN code.
  • Report “Sales by Product Group” has been enhanced. Depending on what your product tree looks like, Erply will either display a flat report, or a report with subtotals (for main product groups).
  • Adjustments to QuickBooks export file
  • On receipts, Erply now shows customer’s actual balance, not available credit.
  • Module Reports > Orders has been removed. The ability to see incoming orders separately from confirmed and fulfilled orders is already available in Sales Orders module, since version 3.3.
